Photography Call for Entry - 2024 Historic Sites Association Calendar!
Have you captured that perfect NL moment in a picture that everybody needs to see?
Every year the Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (HSA) develops a 12-month calendar available for purchase in our Heritage Shops. With the continued support of local photographers, we hope to do the same for the 2024 Calendar season. This year, as in past years, we are looking for submissions for all 12 months. In particular for 8 of the National Historic Sites, including: Signal Hill; Cape Spear; Hawthorne Cottage; Castle Hill; L'Anse aux Meadows; Port au Choix; Ryan Premises; Red Bay; and 4 notable places/icons of NL.
Proceeds from sales at The Heritage Shops support the work of the HSA and this calendar is an integral part of our fundraising efforts, as well as our way of helping create awareness of our National Historic Sites.
How to Enter
Photographers may submit up to 20 photographs of any of the above-mentioned locations and themes. Images must be 300dpi for a final print size of approximately 9 X 12 inches. Submit uncompressed TIFF files or high-resolution JPEGS on a universal format (CD, USB thumb drive, or via DropBox link). Please be sure to include contact information - name, address, phone number, email as well as the specific location and title of each photo, if applicable. Submission is open to all photographers, both amateur and professional. All photos entered MUST have been taken by the person making the submission. Acceptance is based on the quality of the photograph and the relevance of the image.
Deadline for entry is October 21th, 2022 by 5pm.
Any calendar submission inquiries can be directed to Rhonda Walsh: sales@historicsites.ca
Copyright Policy
Through submission, the photographer allows the use of the photograph for reproduction in the 2024 HSA calendar. HSA agrees that the images will not be used for any other purpose or promotional material without the permission of the photographer. All photos will be credited to the photographer.
As a non-profit organization we cannot offer payment but will credit the work to the creator and the calendar will be showcased in 10 of our retail locations across the province. Each selected photographer will be gifted 25 calendars for family and friends. The photographer can also submit matted versions of their work to be considered by the Heritage Shop Review Committee for sale in the Heritage Shops.
Please forward this information on to anyone you think might be interested. Thank you so much for your continued support and we look forward every year to the amazing submissions by the photographers in this province.
