The Canadian Art Print Portfolio

Kluane National Park - Yukon Serigraph by Ted Harrison

The Canadian Art Print Portfolio was commissioned by the Historic Sites Association of Newfoundland and Labrador in 1985 to mark the centenary of Parks Canada. 12 prolific artists from across the country contributed prints inspired by a Canadian Park or Historic Site. The project launched in October 1985 at Rideau Hall, with the first recipient being then Governor General Madame Jeanne Sauvé. Another portfolio was presented to Prince Charles and Princess Diana on their visit to Newfoundland. The profits from this legacy project were placed in a trust fund to support the Signal Hill Tattoo, a living history program at Signal Hill National Historic Site.
